The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Blake Griffin has been diagnosed with a meniscus tear in his left knee and will have arthroscopic surgery early next week. Griffin is expected to be out about eight weeks recovering from the injury.

Good news for LA Clipper fans, while the injury is serious, and the fact that his knees are starting to seem Oden esque he will be ready and able for the start of training camp and the season.

Team USA has also made it official that New Orleans Hornets rookie Anthony Davis will be set to replace Griffin going forward. Davis who played in tonight’s blow-out win over the Dominican Republic scored nine points in 10 minutes of action including a three-pointer.
